The restoration and renovation of the former harbor master's service building manage to strike a perfect balance between subtle contemporary interventions and the valorization of authentic elements. The original volume and layout were refined but respected in their appearance and scale. The thoughtless renovations and interventions over the years were erased and replaced by pure contemporary interpretations with references to the original plan. The rear extension volume was once again connected to the surrounding garden, subtly referencing the drawn orangery on the original building plan. The roof skylights on the garden side were replaced by sleek dormer windows that seamlessly extend the proportions of the facade openings. The authentic dormer windows on the street side were restored, as well as the renewed wooden exterior joinery following the proportions and window divisions of the original building plan. As a finishing touch, the entire building volume was cleaned, and all wrought ironwork restored, allowing the property to shine in its full glory to the surroundings.

The repurposing into an office space (ground floor) with a holiday home above (1st and 2nd floors) seamlessly integrates into the original floor plan, allowing for a subtle internal renovation to be respected. Nonetheless, all modern comforts and safety features were provided (ventilation, fire regulations, etc.)
