WBPE. 'les pieds dans l'eau'

A parcel divided in two by a moat, a single-family home built with its feet in the water, resembling a fortress. An organically growing corten steel volume on a concrete pedestal. Mirroring the ruggedness of its surroundings. On one hand contrasting, yet at the same time looking very natural. The house is conceived as a half split-level with an inverted floor plan, with bedroom areas partially underground and living spaces on the upper levels offering maximum views over the protected landscape to the front and rear.
